Mt. Pinagbanderahan is the original name of Mt. Gulugod Baboy. Historical accounts revealed that during the World War II, a Japanese air craft crashed on this mountain, but still some soldiers survived. To commemorate their survival, they hoisted a flag on its peak. Mountaineers changed the name to Mt. Gulugod Baboy, because some part of the mountain looks like an intestine of a pig.
